Create a Tour Using the Template Method

This documentation describes the process of creating a tour using the Template Method in the Tour module.Users can quickly create tours using pre-designed templates and customize them as needed. Templates saved from the Scratch Method can also be accessed and reused in the Template section.

The following steps explain how to select, customize, save, and publish a tour successfully.

Create and Publish a Tour Using the From Scratch Method

Prerequisites

Website or application is integrated with PagePilot.
Target Page details are available.
Required Element ID is identified.
User has permission to create and publish tours.

Step 1: Navigate to the Tours Module

Go to the Tours module from the navigation menu.

Step 2: Click Create Tour

Click the Create Tour button.

Step 3: Enter Tour Details

A Create Tour popup window will appear. Enter the required details:

→ Tour Name → Device → Language

Step 4: Proceed to Tour Configuration

Click the Next button to proceed to the tour configuration screen.

Step 5: Select a Template

Select the Template method.

Step 6: Add/Edit Content

Add or edit the content of selected template by double clicking on content box.

Step 7: Save the Tour

Click the Save button to save

Step 8: Configure Element ID and Placement Settings

Navigate to the Behaviour tab and configure the Element ID and related placement settings.

Note: Initialize the Element ID with the # symbol in the field box (for example, #login-button).

Step 9: Add Additional Tour Steps
Navigate to the footer section and add additional step by clicking on Duplicate Step to copy template.Edit the content in the new step by following the same process used for Step 1. Repeat as required to create additional tour steps.

Step 10: Preview the Tour

Click the Preview button to review the tour and verify that all steps, content, and navigation behave as expected before publishing.

Step 11: Publish the Tour

Click on Publish Tour

Step 12: Review Before Going Live

Before making the tour live, review and configure the publishing settings:

Target Page
Alternative Target Page (if required)
Start Date
End Date
Show Only Once option.

Step 13: Publish the Tour

After verifying all settings, click the Publish button to make the tour live.

After successful publishing, the published tour will be visible in the Tour Dashboard List.
